If you have kids, and one of them has rebelled against you, or walked away from their faith, you’ll identify with David’s predicament. David’s son Absalom has spent quite some time trying to kill his father, and yet, after his attempts fail and Absalom dies, David mourns over the loss of his son. What a beautiful expression of Godly love and a forgiving nature.
