Seek and You Shall Find Part 1

January 15, 2021

Satan has been described as the father of lies, and he’s very active in our world today, spreading those lies.  Maybe you’ve noticed. And in the midst of it all people are hungry for the truth.  But where do you go to find it?   As we’ll see today, if you seek, you shall find.

It’s a common occurrence in today’s world.  A couple dates for a time, and is madly in love.  They get married and are as close as can be.  But then over time, the relationship falls apart, and becomes distant.  And sadly, sometimes ends in a divorce.  That not only happens in marriage, but in our relationship with God.  Today on Sound Doctrine we see how a distant relationship with the Lord can be restored.

How’s your relationship with the Lord going?  If asked to describe where you’re at here at the beginning of 2021, would you say it feels a bit far off or distant?  Maybe even strained?  Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll show you how a distant relationship can be brought close, through a study of the Song of Solomon.

At the turn of the year it’s not a bad idea to take inventory of our lives, see where we’re at, and what if anything needs to change.  We’ll have that opportunity today on Sound Doctrine, as we again open the Song of Solomon, with pastor Jeff Johnson.   If your relationship with God is distant at best, or strained, it can be healed and restored.

In any relationship, whether it's a marriage or a friendship, can so easily deteriorate.  What once was solid as a rock, is now distant or strained.  It can also happen in our relationship with God, as we’ll learn today on Sound Doctrine.  So if things aren’t where they should be, between you and the Lord, be sure to join us.  I think you’ll get a lot out of this study from the Song of Solomon chapter five.

Find your place in Song of Solomon chapter four.  Pastor Jeff sees the love of God for us shining through this chapter, but also what our response should be to it.  Are you responding in love back to Him?  Let’s consider that together today, as we turn our eyes upon Jesus!

We’ve got a great study lined up for you from the Song of Solomon chapter four.  And it features a love letter from God to His bride, the church.  As we consider God’s great love for us today, it should provoke a certain response from us.  We’ll see what that is in part two of, “Oh How He Loves Me.”

Life has its ups and downs.  And maybe as you look at this past year, you’d say there were way more downs than ups!  But whatever comes our way, this truth remains, Jesus loves me!  Let’s find comfort in that today on Sound Doctrine as we dig deeper into the Song of Solomon.

Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.  I’m sure you remember singing that in Sunday School.  You could say the song we’ll hear today on Sound Doctrine, is quite similar.  You’ll find it in the Song of Solomon.  Pastor Jeff Johnson visits chapter four, which presents a couple of love songs, and the first could be aptly titled, “He only has eyes for her!”   Referring to God’s love for His bride, the church.

Where there is no vision, the people perish, says Proverbs 29:18.  So to say vision is important would be an understatement.  And today on Sound Doctrine we’ll gain God’s vision for the year ahead, to see what He’s up to in these last days.  When you come to realize Jesus is coming soon, it has a dramatic impact on the way you live.

Happy New Year from all of us at Sound Doctrine!  We’re excited to be able to kick off the year with you, with a special message from Pastor Jeff Johnson.  As we look together at the signs of the end of the age, given to us by Christ, it is becoming increasingly clear the return of Jesus is near!  This should excite the believer and prompt us to a certain way of living.  We'll see what that is in part one of Pastor Jeff’s message, “What to do!”
