Our Christian Distinctives, A

January 5, 2018

Thanks for joining us on this edition of SD with Pastor Jeff Johnson. Proverbs are the godly man or womens distinctives. What does that mean exactly? Well it means that Christians should look very different from the way the rest of the world looks. The way we live, act, speak should be very distinct from the society that we live in. Today Pastor Jeff teaches from Proverbs chapter 20. We will learn that God is concerned with our conduct, because we represent him wherever we go. Our willing and dealing is seeing by the Lord and he wants better for us. Join Pastor Jeff for the message, “Our Christian Distinctives”

You are listening to Sound Doctrine with pastor and bible teacher Jeff Johnson, founder of CCD in Downey, CA. The commandment of honoring our father and mother comes with a promise. It will give us a long life and things will go well for us. As we have been going through our study of Proverbs 20, we are finding a variety of lessons that Solomon is trying to teach his son. He teaches his son that if he dishonors his parents, it goes to his own hurt. This commandment still applies today as it did thousands of years ago, because its origins is in God. Jesus was the great example of bringing honor to his father, therefore as Christians we should imitate. This is the conclusion of the message, “Words to Live By”

The basic definition of slothfulness is lazy. This is never a word you will see through out scripture as encouraged, the Lord always frowns it upon because it’s against his very nature. This is sound doctrine, the radio ministry of Pastor Jeff Johnson. Today we continue in our study from Proverbs chapter 20. Proverbs is so unique, it covers such a wide range of issue that deal with the human condition. Today one topic we will look at is the lazy man or women. These are not dependable; they go against Gods very nature. Jesus was not a lazy man and desires that we would all be busy about His fathers business. This is the message, “Words to Live By”

You know man has a lot of opinions about morals they live by. But what’s important should be what God says about morals. We have his word to guide and direct us in the ways we should go. Today pastor Jeff is in the book of proverbs chapter 20. We will see that we cant just make up our own life styles and have no consequences. If we sow corruptly we will reap corruption.
