Miracles in His Name (Part 2) Episode 2

December 9, 2019

The most important ability that God is looking for from you is your availability. When an apostle or spiritual leader passed away the church would pray and move on. However, when a sister who was used in a powerful and practical way, the church called for Peter. And through his availability, Peter came to the aid of a church that needed help. Pastor Jeff shows the importance of those who were used like Dorcas, and the need for those who are obedient as Peter was. With more on our study titled, “Miracles in His Name (Part 2),” let’s join Pastor Jeff in Acts 9 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

In the OT, Abraham’s servant was sent on a mission to find a bride for his son. As he went on his mission, he prayed and asked God for direction.  When he saw that God was answering his prayer, he thanked God and said, “As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me…” We see that same theme taking place in the lives of the believers in the early church. Pastor Jeff continues to take us through these dynamic principles of God working through those who followed God’s ways, and how the Lord works the same way today. Join us for the second part of our study titled, “Miracles in His Name,” Part 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

When you read the Bible you are immediately confronted with God’s supernatural miracles, and healing power. We have a God who suspends the physical laws of science in order to heal and do wondrous things. Yet at times, we can be tempted to ask why we don’t see those same things occurring with the same frequency and the same degree we read about in Scripture. As we finish our study titled, “Miracles In His Name (Part1)” Pastor Jeff acknowledges the question and gives answers why some didn’t experience God’s power then and now. We invite you to take notes to one of the most often asked questions, so you will be equipped when asked by others. Until then, join us in Acts 9 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

What requirements does God look for when it comes to being used by Him? What kind of a person is He seeking? Today Pastor Jeff helps us to see the people God used in the book of Acts were very similar to you and I. He gives a couple of simple principles that we can incorporate into our lives so that He is able to freely move through our lives to those around us. This is the second installment of the message titled, “Miracles in His Name Part 1”. With more in our study from Acts 9, let’s join Pastor Jeff with insights into Sound Doctrine.

Have you ever wondered what the ministry of Jesus would look like if He were on planet earth today? What would He say and do? What kind of miracles would He work? As we begin a new study in the book of Acts, Pastor Jeff says that because Jesus has baptized us in the Holy Spirit, we should be doing the things that Jesus would be doing if He were on planet earth physically. As we shift our focus back to Peter, we answer the question, “How does a man or woman of God live and serve in our culture?” With our study titled, “Miracles in His Name,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in Acts 9 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

There are times in our walk with God when we are tempted to wonder what God is doing. Times when we don’t see much activity and ask God what is His plan during this season of life. Pastor Jeff says that much like the newly converted Saul of Tarsus in our study, God may be using that time to prepare you for something even further. He may be preparing your life and testimony for something greater, and this time of quiet may seem challenging, but God may have more in store if you will trust Him. With that in mind, let’s turn to Acts 9 for our study titled, “The Effects of One Man in Christ (Part 2)” for our time in Sound Doctrine

Have you ever purchased a shirt and discovered a sticker that says, “Inspected by so and so”? It’s a symbol of quality to let you know that what you’re wearing has passed the quality test. Today Pastor Jeff helps us to see whether or not our thankfulness towards God has passed the quality test.  He highlights key areas where we, as believers, need to exercise thankfulness. So take a few moments to do a self-inspection with an outward expression of thankfulness to the Lord. With that in mind, we invite you to join us for our time of thankfulness in Sound Doctrine.

From Pastor Jeff Johnson and Sound Doctrine, we would like to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Have you noticed that the word thanks or thanksgiving is in danger of becoming extinct. With the increasingly divided political tension and the growing number of Americans acquiring stress related illnesses, it’s no wonder that Thankfulness is a dying breed. Today Pastor Jeff helps us to see however rare thankfulness is becoming, it is more essential than ever. He highlights key areas that we as believers need to exercise thankfulness. With that in mind, we invite you to join us for our time of thankfulness in Sound Doctrine.

You never know what God is able to do with those around you who may seem to be the most antagonistic to Jesus Christ. You’ve shared with them, and shown them the love of God. And yet they seem to be even more irritated and aggressive towards you. It’s been said, “When you throw a rock into a pack of barking dogs, the one that barks loudest is the one who got hit.” And through your witness, they may be getting hit, or convicted by God’s Holy Spirit. Today Pastor Jeff shows ways in which Saul of Tarsus was overcoming obstacles as he was preaching the Gospel. And how God is able to do a mighty work through us as we overcome our obstacles as well. Let’s join Pastor Jeff in Acts 9 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

Does life at times feel like you’re going three steps forward and two steps back? If so, you’re in good company. Saul of Tarsus felt the same way as a new believer in Christ. Expecting God to do a work, he faced great opposition as he proclaimed the Gospel to those who used to be his friends. As we continue to look at his story, Pastor Jeff shows how he was able to keep his eyes on the Lord in even the most challenging and adverse circumstances so that he was able to overcome them. With our second series titled, “The Effects of One Man in Christ - Part 2,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in Acts 9 for our encouragement in Sound Doctrine.

It’s been said that the world has yet to see what God can do through a person who is completely surrendered to Him. And the Bible says that He is looking for such a person who is loyal to Him to show Himself strong on their behalf. As we continue our study titled, “ The Effects of One Man in Christ, Part 1” Pastor Jeff shows how God used Saul of Tarsus right after his conversion, and how God wants to use you in our culture to the same extent today. This is a great reminder and to combat those seasons of discouragement. With that in mind, let’s join Pastor Jeff for our time in Sound Doctrine.
