Those of you who have swam in the ocean, know how easy it is to drift, and not even realize it’s happening. You look back to the shore and your beach towel and belongings are out of sight!   The same thing can happen to us spiritually!  If that’s you, we’ll show you how to get back to your first love relationship with Jesus today on Sound Doctrine.  Pastor Jeff is in the Song of Solomon chapter two describing the sort of relationship God desires to have with us.

Pastor Jeff Johnson is in the early stages of a new series in the Song of Solomon.  In the first few verses of chapter one the Shulamite woman is confessing her love to Solomon.  She’s basically saying there’s nothing like it, and it goes way beyond physical attraction to the inner character.  Pastor Jeff will relate this to God’s love for us!  Nothing can compare to the Lord’s love for each of us and what a timely reminder with Christmas on the horizon.

Do you enjoy a good love story or love song?  Most Americans do.   But much of the time the picture that we’re given of love and romance in the world is diametrically opposed to what we find in Scripture.  Today on Sound Doctrine we begin a series of studies based on the Song of Solomon.  Now if you want an accurate picture of love and romance, that’s the book to turn to!  It emphasizes how much God really loves us.

We’ll meet you in Ecclesiastes chapter twelve in just a moment, as we wrap up our series in this marvelous Old Testament book.  We can learn a great deal by sitting down with an older person in the faith, and hear their reflections on life!  You might say, we’re doing that today with Solomon. He’s about to share the reason for living, and what we’re to be doing in this life.

We’re nearing the conclusion of our series in Ecclesiastes here on Sound Doctrine.  Pastor Jeff Johnson will be looking at the final few verses of the book, in what we might title Solomon’s final conclusion.  Many of us have gone to school for 12, 16 or more years.  But have you ever thought of life as a school?  Today pastor Jeff points this out, and the need to learn our lessons well.

How do you face the inevitability of death? The answer to that question really establishes one of the biggest differences between the approach a Christian has toward life, and the non-Christian,at least it should be. But even the most committed Christian sometimes thinks about death with a fearful mindset. It doesn’t have to be that way! Join us for Sound Doctrine, as we learn to enjoy life and death!

Today we’re going to bring you a message in Ecclesiastes, from Pastor Jeff Johnson.  Chapter twelve addresses something that we’ll all experience if the rapture doesn’t come first, getting older and dying. It’s been rightly said that the statistics are overwhelming, one hundred percent of people born will die! The question is where will we go from there?  As we’ll learn today, we can actually come to the place of enjoying life and death!

It’s been said, “The hereafter is what we’re to be here… after!”  In other words, we’re to have a heavenly vision during our earthly living.  What are you living for and what have you done with Jesus?  We’ll thoughtfully consider that today on Sound Doctrine, as we aim to complete Ecclesiastes chapter eleven with pastor Jeff Johnson.
