We’ve all heard the saying that you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all of the time. Today in Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson shows us what’s hidden within the heart of the angry/hateful person who tries hide it from others. It’s a cautionary tale that what may seem like a Prince Charming can sometimes be a harboring a heart filled with bitterness and sin. It’s another example of those whom Pastor Jeff is calling “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”. So, let’s resume our study in Sound Doctrine from Proverbs 26.

The Bible has a lot of categories for people who choose not to follow the Lord. From sinner to wicked to the lowest label of fool, there are a lot of descriptions because there are a lot of foolish choices besides the Lord. But when Pastor Jeff Johnson reveals that Proverbs give an even more derogatory description than fool, well that’s a category we should all want to make sure we avoid. Have you ever noticed how we have great technology to warn us of many things that pose a danger to us? We have metal detectors in airports. We have biological hazard detectors. But nowhere in the world is there technology to protect us from what the Bible calls foolishness. Wouldn’t you agree that we live in a disposable, upgrade-frenzy, society? If something doesn’t work, we throw it away and get a new one. If we have a slightly older smartphone, we wait in lines to get the new one coming out next week.
