The best defense against a hard enemy is to maintain a soft heart. Today on Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us what are the most difficult enemies are in the life of the believer. You may be surprised to discover many of them are from within. But then he gives us Biblical tools to show how to God’s Spirit and Jesus’ example can continually give us victory over internal, eternal, and external foes. God also tells us in that verse what is required in response to the Devil’s tactics: sobriety and vigilance. Years ago there was a medical safety commercial where an elderly cried, “Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” That lasting image of a fallen person was effective in evoking sympathy for someone who was unable to stand, calling for help. Today on Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson shows that God lifts up the righteous believer though they may fall many times, but the wicked will fall and not rise again.
