A Pause for Contemplation

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye. - Psalm 32:8

When you study the life of David, you see he was a unique person. At first he was not an important person to many because he just took care of sheep; but God had plans to use his life. He killed a bear and a lion, when he was just a boy, defending his father’s sheep. Think of the strength and power God had given him in order to protect them. When he was a young boy he could have never imagined how God would use his life.

David was anointed by God to be the next king and in the name of the Lord he killed the giant Goliath. He became a mighty man of war, but pulled himself out of battle and committed the biggest mistake of his life. Adultery and murder marked his life, but God forgave and restored him. During his time of repentance David wrote Psalm 32 and Psalm 51, today read and mediate on Psalm 32.

As we pause to contemplate David’s life, I want you to think about your own life. Where has God placed you today? As a young person, perhaps you are a student, preparing to become a leader? No matter what age we are, God desires to instruct, teach and guide us through our lives. It is our responsibility to set time aside and get to know Him intimately and to learn to hear the voice of God.

How else can we receive His instruction and guidance for our lives?

It is morally impossible to exercise trust in God where there is failure to wait upon Him for guidance and direction.
