God’s Promise of Protection

And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. - Zechariah 14:16-17

This is an amazing prophecy from the prophet Zechariah. As the children of Israel celebrated the Feast of Booths or Feast of Tabernacles in recognition of God’s provision and protection in the wilderness, the Feast of Tabernacles will be celebrated in the Kingdom Age.

Think about the incredible protection and provision of the Lord when the nations of the world come against Israel and God steps in to defeat all of them. Their protection will not come from men. It will come from the Lord. As He protected them from their enemies on their journey through the wilderness, God will protect them from their enemy in the Last Days.

When we look at what is happening in the Middle East today, we could get very discouraged, if we did not know the Lord and His Word. The nations are lining up, surrounding Israel, as they desire to push Israel into the Mediterranean, but God will not allow it. He will always have His remnant.

It is so cool to read prophecy and know God has already won the war. He is our strength and protection. He has given us His Word and He will fulfill His promises.

God promises to keep His people, and He will keep His promise.
