For some reason, we tend to think that God is somewhere “up there” looking down to see how His children are doing. But the New Testament paints a different picture in which God sees believers as part of Christ’s body — the church — in a union with Him as intimate as the connection between the parts of a human body. As Christians running the race of life, we don’t run alone. We share the actual life of God Himself.
