Self-determination is thought of as a great American distinctive. We're free to pursue our dreams, wherever they may lead. But believers' dreams must pass through God's hands. Jesus faced untold agony in a place called Gethsemane. Knowing what awaited Him, and praying until blood drops hit the ground, He finally said to His Father, "Not my will, but Thine be done."
