The Jews of Jesus' day were enslaved by the Roman Empire, eager for anyone to deliver them from Caesar's yoke.... That's why some saw in Jesus the deliverer that had been foretold. They wanted a leader to overthrow Rome's tyranny. But Jesus had a larger deliverance to make: a deliverance from the power of sin. Today: we'll see Jesus from God's vantage point.
