The crucifixion of Christ was not an accident of history. The painful details of that awful day were foretold in Scripture. When Jesus said, "I thirst," He fulfilled the words of Psalm 69. In fact, Jesus fulfilled the words of many prophets spoken hundreds of years before He came, words that told of a sacrifice, a "wounding for our transgressions," all to bring us to God.
