Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. During persecution, some believers are spared while others go through torture and death. Some wonder why God doesn’t deliver all of His people, since He surely could. In this message we find an answer to a vexing problem we all face as we try to understand God.

Every day, government pressure mounts on the Christian faith. How should believers react? For guidance, we can look to a similar time of persecution long ago. The place was Babylon, and the minority Jews were facing great challenges.

When the government says do one thing, and the Bible tells us to do the opposite, what do we do? The answers are not always clear, since we are called to obey those who rule over us. How four men handled this in ancient Babylon can give us guidance.
