Long ago, God gave the Ten Commandments as a blueprint for living. Our failure to follow commandment number five is a big reason for the dismal state of many families. In this message we learn an important key to having happy and stable homes.

A central commandment of the Law of God is the prohibition against taking innocent life. Yet hundreds of people are killed every year in each of our major cities. Life is cheap, and gets cheaper when convicted killers never pay the price God commanded.

Murder: it’s now so common that we aren’t fazed by it anymore. But the taking of innocent life breaks one of the cardinal commandments of God. And since Roe versus Wade, that commandment has been broken untold millions of times.

God made it clear that all of us need a day of rest. The concept is so important that he made it into one of the Ten Commandments. In our day, Sunday is just another day to shop, work, or be on the move: not a day for rest, reflection, meditation and prayer.

The commandment to not take the name of God in vain goes to the core of His nature, and to the heart of respecting Him as Creator. In this message we learn important lessons from another of the Ten Commandments, lessons on how important His name really is.

“I am the Lord, that is My name. My glory I will not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” There is no ambiguity here. It is clear that God will not tolerate the worship of images. But do crosses, crucifixes, or icons violate God’s commandment?
September 12, 2017
Is a picture ever wrong? We need to understand God’s commands prohibiting images meant to represent Him. People disobey this commandment daily, giving worship to a vast array of idols, carvings, pictures, and icons. What does God think of these images?

It’s in the nature of man to worship something, even deities made of wood and stone. But God makes it clear that He will not tolerate any idols. In this message we learn why the first commandment requires that nothing replaces God in our allegiance.
