Jesus the Gift of Love Part 1

December 22, 2015

“Greater love hath no man, than a man lay down his life for his friends.” That’s what Jesus said, and that’s what He did. There is no greater love than the love of God through His Son, and that’s the greatest Christmas gift one could receive this year.

The Eclipse Of God
Just as the moon obscures the sun’s light during an eclipse, today’s radical secularism has obscured the light of God. But God’s light still shines—and He is calling us to shine His light in our growing darkness. Is God more tolerant than He used to be? Pastor Lutzer shows how God is both a God of wrath as well as grace; that He is both merciful and just, and both a redeemer and a judge. Deepen your love for our unchangeable God of the Bible and be empowered to proclaim the light of truth in a culture of darkness. One of the marks of those who believe in Jesus is joy… joy that goes down deep even in times of sorrow. It comes from having fellowship with the Father and His Son Jesus.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The life He offers to those who believe is an eternal one. This Christmas, let’s be thankful for the life our Savior promises, a life that transcends our temporary time in this world.

The life God gives to those who believe in His Son is a life that transforms our inner motivations. Once we believe and are transformed by Christ, we see the world in a whole different light.

At Christmas, we would rather not think about the end of life. But the eternal life Jesus brought for those who believe means that death is not the end. In one sense, Jesus becomes the beginning of the real life we were meant to have.

The lights of Christmas come down in January. But the light Jesus brings into the hearts of believers can burn brighter every day. Yet sin can quickly obscure that light, so we must be diligent to walk in obedience.
December 15, 2015
Jesus said, “People love darkness rather than light.” Light exposes our deeds, but it also illuminates the pathway ahead. In days of darkness and uncertainty, we need the light Jesus brings now more than ever.

With joyful carols filling the air, the Christmas season is upon us. Economy experts paint the season as pivotal for retailers, and many get caught up in the materialistic desires of our culture at this time of year. It’s sad that so much darkness is amongst us, but that’s why we look to Jesus as our source of light.
December 11, 2015
Real love seeks the good of others first, seeking its own benefit last. This is counter-cultural, and it undermines our own innate selfishness. But believers are held to a high standard—God’s love, as found in the Bible.
December 10, 2015
Among believers, speaking in tongues is a contentious issue. The Apostle Paul put the issue to rest a long time ago in his writings to the church at Corinth. He taught that there is something that transcends spiritual gifts, and that is love.
December 9, 2015
Long ago, the Apostle Paul wrote the ultimate essay on love. If you master 1 Corinthians 13, you’ll know what real love is and isn’t. We need to comprehend God’s view of love, in order that we can share it with others.
