The Old Testament is filled with stories of battles and conquest as well as defeats. Concerning His people, when they conducted the battles according to his direction there was victory. When they decided to do it their own way or with pride, they lost. When they decided to put their eyes on the One who went before them, even when the instructions seemed like madness, and when they began to praise BEFORE the battle, they were led to victory.
