Just as we all enter the world naked in our physical body, we all start out exposed spiritually and we are ashamed. This is why we chase after the things of this world to find covering for ourselves. However, the only thing that can truly cover us is Christ Himself. God’s grace and mercy through Christ covers all of our sins so that we no longer have to be ashamed but can rather stand in His presence. Rather than give into the lies that the devil tells us about worldly things that can cover our shame, we need to rest in the covering of Christ, knowing that we are redeemed through Him.

Jesus gave us the instructions that we are supposed to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and visit those who are sick and in prison. He said that if we do these things then we are doing them for Him. We often miss out on these opportunities because we do not view those who are hungry, thirsty, naked, sick or imprisoned as Jesus Himself. But when we allow the Spirit to lead us, He will open our eyes so that we can make the most of those opportunities to serve those considered to be least in society. Just because we have a ticket to Heaven does not mean we can go to sleep. We are called to be the body of Christ, which means we need to move and serve just as He did.
