My Dear Laodicea, I’ve Written You A Letter - C

April 21, 2021

If Jesus is not the head of our church, then we will suffer eternal consequences. If we are proud of our church, and what we’ve done for it, we are self-absorbed, and are only deceiving ourselves. If the Holy Spirit is not alive in our hearts, we have no power, and are lost in our sins.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

There are a lot of churches today that are like the church of Laodicea. They only teach part of the truth. Jesus has revealed in His Word, the Bible exactly who He is, and that He is the only way to Heaven. But many churches choose to revise His identity, and undermine His authority.

In this final letter to the seven churches, we’ll see how wealthy the church of Laodicea was. A man-made user-friendly church that Jesus had nothing good to say about. The church is more than just a building, and if Jesus is not within a church, it is dead inside.

Jesus reminds the church of Philadelphia that He is the Coming One. He is coming again for those who are waiting for Him. We needn’t fear, or worry about the shaking and the noise around us. In Jesus we have our identity, and He will make us pillars that will never fall down.

God’s love for us never changes. He is our Protector and Defender, and opens doors that no one can shut. The church at Philadelphia had enemies within the church and without, but they kept God’s Word and never denied His name. Even in their weakness, they kept their witness as believers.

The name Philadelphia, as many of us know, means “brotherly love”. And, because of its many temples to Babylonian and Greek gods, it was also called, “The Little Athens of the Empire”. But, Jesus wanted the church in Philadelphia to know that He is the Great I Am, who loves them, and gives them strength.

Jesus will come for us when we least expect. It’s why as believers, we must live in a state of readiness. Those who are not prepared, and whose name is not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, will miss out on their reward of Heaven

The church of Sardis was thriving in a time of compromise and acceptance. Everybody wanted to go there. But, God who looks at our hearts, wants us to examine our intentions and take an account for how we’re doing on the inside. Are we watchful and are we ready to meet our Savior?
April 12, 2021
When it comes to the church of Sardis, Jesus reminds them that He knows all things, and that they need to get their hearts right. Spiritually dead churches are filled with people who like being comfortable. They’re not open to change, and lack vision for the generations that follow after them.

When the Lord points out what we’re doing wrong, He always mixes His discipline with hope. In this day and age, and what we’re dealing with, God is watching how we react. Either we’re guided by our fears, or we’re refusing to compromise our faith, and are continuing to do good.
April 8, 2021
Jesus is telling all churches not to be afraid. These happenings on earth can take your body, but not your spirit. When we become believers of Jesus Christ we are not only grafted in as His sons and daughters, but He also calls us His friends. And, it’s why peace is possible even in dark and confusing times.
