Love by nature, is sacrificial - it doesn't take, it gives. God loves by willfully humbling Himself to the point of sacrificing His Son for us. According to the Bible, God IS love, that's why He can't tolerate sin and rebellion.

Israel had become drunk on false doctrines and man-made customs. The Word of God had no effect on them because of the traditions that had been handed down to them. But, that’s when God will use difficulties, hardships and challenges to do a work in their lives, and in ours.

On today’s program, Pastor Jack reminds us that we’re to get together regularly with other believers. That way the church stands united in the truth. We need to know our Bible with the intent to apply it. Otherwise, we could be called hypocrites for not sharing the only thing that keeps us from spiritual deception.

The church needs to stand for the truth, but it needs to understand what the truth is. False doctrine has become rampant in the church today, and false prophets will only tell you what you want to hear. That’s why we need to fight hypocrisy with our Bibles open. Our life depends on it.

God hates hypocrisy, and we need to hate it too. Hypocrisy can only be cured with the truth of God’s Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit to rightfully discern its truth. We need to be diligent to fight hypocrisy in this deceptive world, as God combats it with His doctrine, and guides us with His parenting.

God is a wonderful counselor, and excellent in guiding us. He knows that one size doesn’t fit all. Some people need to hear of His grace and love. Some need to hear of His mercy and kindness, while others need to hear of His anger and judgment.

God warns the leaders of Israel that their pride, drunkenness, and self-confidence will be their ruin. In God’s eyes, they had become unteachable. But, the Lord God is also tender-hearted. He gives them the opportunity to turn from their sin.

Isaiah Chapter 28 will open up with a warning from God for the nation of Israel. He will begin with a series of “woes”... It’s like saying grief be on you, or judgment is coming to you. God’s love is not weak. He will discipline those He loves.
