The Witnessing Church - 4B

August 1, 2018

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

The Apostle Stephen preached with such conviction, the people were not able to resist his wisdom. Stephen didn’t try to promote the church, he lived it, even when there were those who falsely accused him of blasphemy.

We are God’s witnesses, even when we don’t speak. Stephen, in the Book of Acts, was a man full of persuasive faith and power. But, he was promoted by God, because he was ready for anything, including manual labor. Stephen’s ministry was often done without saying a word.

It is important that the church has their priorities in place, and appoints Godly people to expand its ministry. And, God will not raise a need within the church, without raising up believers to fill that need, whatever it may be.

The birth of church leadership was founded through adversity. But, with the continual receiving of the Word from the Apostles, along with prayer, the church held on to its unity. So, a leader, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom can have the victory whenever Satan launches his attacks.

When the Lord miraculously released the Apostles Peter and John from prison, they immediately went back to preaching outside the temple. And, even though they were severely beaten, their message both encouraged, and inspired the people.
