The Revealing of Jesus, Part 2

At Christmas time we recall and celebrate our Lord’s first coming to this earth. But did you realize He’s coming again to establish His Kingdom? And that’s as certain as His first advent. And it gets even better, if you’re a Christian, you’ll be with Him! This is predicted in the book of Revelation chapter one, and that’s where we’re headed today on Light on the Hill as pastor James Kaddis presents a vision of the glorified Christ.

Revelation is an often times misunderstood book. Some of us share the experience of reading a book in school, doing a homework assignment, and then have the teacher tell us that we totally missed the point of the book! Many Christians miss the central point of the book of Revelation too. Let’s make sure we’re not one of them. Pastor James will do some important groundwork, with this introduction, so we get an idea of the message contained in it.

Today we’re going to be wrapping up our series, In Spirit and in Truth. And we do so with the words of Jesus. In Matthew 22 He said, “Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And then, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Pastor James Kaddis believes this perfectly summarizes our series, and really the Christian life.

The Sadducees and Pharisees were constantly trying to test Jesus and trip Him up. Often through questions like the one we’ll hear today on Light on the Hill. It was, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?” Jesus would take this opportunity to not only wisely answer their question, but relay to all of us a wonderful encapsulation of the Bible.

We’ll continue that message today, as pastor James Kaddis revisits First Kings three. We’re considering Solomon as a great example of a peacemaker.

I think you’d agree, this world is full of chaos and disorder! But the Lord can use us to bring order into the situation. And today on Light on the Hill we’ll see how. We’re learning how to be a peacemaker, as we return to our series, “In Spirit and in Truth.” Pastor James opens First Kings chapter three and observes some of the qualities in Solomon that makes him stand out in Scripture as a peacemaker.

But you know what’s even better than that, and even a greater privilege? God Almighty has selected you to be His Personal Ambassador of the Kingdom of God.
