1 Corinthians 6 Part 2

October 8, 2019

As believers we have daily choices and decisions to make and at times we can think of a chapter and verse that tells us exactly what to do.  But there are also certain things that would fall in the bucket of our Christian liberties.  As we’ll discover today that doesn’t necessarily mean we should do it.  Before Paul the apostle would exercise a liberty he would put it through a grid.  Pastor James Kaddis will draw our attention to that to help us arrive at the very best decisions in life.

When we’re wronged by someone or our rights are violated we might be tempted to take it into the legal system. And in the world as we know it, that’s the route that people often take. But should Christians sue other Christians?  Today on Light on the Hill that very question is raised.

Have you ever had to confront someone who was clearly in the wrong?  Few of us actually look forward to doing that, and many shy away from it.   But it’s important to tell a person what they need to hear, especially when they’re living in sin!  Even if it puts the relationship at risk.  Here on Light on the Hill pastor James Kaddis urges us to have a concern for holiness and a willingness to help others.

These are challenging times.  And it can be difficult to live the Christian life in the midst of it. But the Lord through His Word shows us how it can be done. For starters, if we’re going to please God in this environment, we need to have good examples in our lives to follow.  And we can find them in the passage we turn to today on Light on the Hill.

In First Corinthians chapter four Paul encouraged the believers in Corinth to consider himself and his fellow missionaries as simply servants of Christ, carrying out the will of their Master. This serves as an example for us today, as well.
