1 Peter 2:4-6 is a classic passage about Christ and the Body of Christ.  Jesus is the living stone and we are the living stones because we are "in Christ." We are part of a spiritual house.  He next switches his anology from the spiritual temple to the priesthood that would serve in that temple, through sacrifices and offerings.
