1 Peter 2:4-6 is a classic passage speaking of Christ and the Body of Christ. Peter writes this much later in his life - after having gained much wisdon. He speaks of Jesus being the "living stone" - and because we are "in Christ" we are also the living stones. We are part of a spiritual house. And then he switches the analogy from the spiritual temple to the priesthood that would serve in that temple, through sacrifices and offerings.
