If fear is sometimes good, is it ever good to fear God? Usually people say that fearing God really means respecting him. But fear is the word the Bible uses, and fear has more of an edge to it than respect.

We need to take the idea of the pleasure of God and soak in it. When we have a vew of God as stodgy, it is often the barrier to deep Christian devotion. He savors old age and he is the excitement of any age.
