Could any text in the Bible be any more relevant to our contemporary Western society and the church? Just as in the time of the tower of Babel, we long for unity and peace and community, but we're still rebels so we try to achieve it without God, and the result is disaster.

Grace triumphing over wrath is a Biblical theme that begins in Genesis and sets the trajectory for the message of the whole Bible. The theme of grace and the gospel goes right across Scripture, and it's a wonderful thrill to begin to see that in Genesis.

Deep within all of us, there is a longing for the garden that is now closed to us. The only way back to God is through the cross, through Christ. We need to stay on the path of the gospel, the Bible, and the cross and find our way back to God.

Studying the origin of evil can enhance our appreciation and understanding of grace. If a church or movement begins to minimize its view of sin and evil out of a desire to be nice, it minimizes grace. Unless you think there's a big enough problem with sin, you're not going to believe in a big enough grace.
