CNN does a long, positive piece on Rob Bell, who is touring the Bible Belt as the “outlaw pastor.” Rob is an apologist for doubters, and offers group therapy for those who have made their way out of the Christian church. But, we’ve been on this merry-go-round before. Kevin Swanson points out John A.T. Robinson, Paul Tillich, Jeremy Bentham, and Henry Ward Beecher worked the same gig in previous generations. At the end of the day, what is the basic ethic? The answer is obvious - whatever the world says.
