The New Yorker Magazine features an article on the recent history of dystopian fiction, and its not a pretty sight. Modern dystopian literature is untrusting, lonely, sullen, helpless, and hopeless — unlike the older stuff. We also do a spread-sheet analysis on box office receipts on dystopian films, and find an exponential rise in just 20 years. What is happening to the post-modern world? The worst the news gets in the world, however, the better our news!
