The Dirty Dozen – Big Tech and Child Trafficking

February 26, 2021

In this edition of Generations Radio, Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus discuss the Dirty Dozen List that was put out by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. Tech companies have their priorities wrong, intent on destroying Christian voices, while facilitating the sexual exploitation of children. Jesus said that it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. What should Christians do during this time? Should they boycott these companies? How can Christians protect their children and raise them in the fear of God?

A Seventh-day Adventist goes to court and gets $50,000 from Frito Lay because he won’t work a Saturday. To force a private company to hire or fire somebody violates the 8th commandment. Now, homosexuals want similar treatment, and then this turns into real religious persecution of Seventh-day Adventist business owners, Christian churches, and colleges. Then, Kevin Swanson leaves the program with the bottom line. Nobody can exempt themselves from the grace of God to set the captives free from sin and sinful lifestyles.

The Western economy is the worst since 1709 (at least for the UK). The US economy is in free fall. But more importantly—the recent church scandals, including that of Falwell and Zacharias—are not to be minimized or shoved under the carpet. These scandals are seismic, and they signify a serious fall and humiliation to the Western church. The fire is burning. Will we have any gold, silver, and precious stones when the smoke clears?

Witchcraft. Eastern Religion. Ancestor Worship. Feminist Power. Women in Military. These were the themes surfacing in Disney's Milan 2020. Was it any surprise Disney offered support for Communist China's concentration camps, while abominating the pro-life cause in Georgia? Will children decipher the problem with the eastern Chi Force vs. a biblical metaphysic? Which is worse—Disney's support of abortion or whatever this modern pied piper is doing to the souls of children?

Here we look at the trajectory of the Hallmark Channel, which is supposed to be "family friendly." But what do these nebulous terms mean? The program looks at the career of Rush Limbaugh and his influence on the conservative movement of the last 35 years. He was the hope of a conservative, Christian America. Were his last years more humble and reverent towards God than his first years? We end with a few pointers on handling media—with an eye towards media that fears God. What does this look like?

Has Max Lucado, the leading evangelical writer of our generation recanted on his position taken in 2004 on homosexuality? Will he join the ranks of Cranmer and Latimer in the fire? When you're in the big leagues, you have to keep the gate keepers happy. If you are going to be on the New York Times best seller list, you're going to have to  toss a little incense on Nero's altar. What would you do if the stakes were so high and they threaten to send you to "cancel corner" for six years?

About 2/3 of the millennial generation have left the churches that their grandparents and parents attended here in the US. They don’t go to church anymore. And the exodus out of the faith continues. Was church just a boring tradition for them? What do we convey to our children when no church is good enough for us? Or what is a right relationship with church, church elders, worship, and the fellowship? More is caught than taught. Will our children catch the joy, the exultation, the passion for worship, the convictions, and the love for the body from us—dads and moms?

The Second Mayflower suggests an escape from tyranny and the planting of Christian colonies — but this futuristic movie suggests putting the colony in outer space. This makes for an interesting discussion with the producers of Mayflower II. The film explores civil disobedience, fleeing, and the pilgrim dilemma facing cultural separatists to this day.

Striking the balance between the anarchical revolutions and lawless tyranny, we point out that the American War for Independence was completely legitimate and worthy of the support of Christian pastors. We also compare and contrast the French Revolution with the rule of law in the American colonies. How did the King of England and the parliament reject the rule of law in favor of tyranny? We end with an admonition to Christian families to know history, or otherwise give way to tyranny.

We revisit the economic and ecclesiastical breakdown of the West. Now with a far left US president, will the pope or the archbishops hold the line on abortion and homosexuality? At least one bishop withheld the table from Joe Biden in 2019. Must we conclude that this church doesn't believe the things they claim to believe?

We take a good long look at "religious freedom." Pastor John MacArthur pointed out recently that religious freedom is idolatry, and religious freedom sends people to hell. Does government policy hinder or help the church, according to God's purposes? Are we bound to lose every battle we wage in culture, in our communities, and all of our relationships and spiritual life? We interact with Pastor John's January sermons here. Kevin Swanson points out the necessity of defining terms and bringing clarity to the discussion on these worldview issues.
