What qualities should we be instilling in our sons? The culture has vilified masculinity, and as a result, an entire generation of boys is growing up without a clear idea of what it means to be a man. To help parents confront this challenge, the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute has developed a new 10-day email series based on Dr. Dobson’s best-selling book, Bringing Up Boys. It’s designed to equip you to wisely lead your sons to become godly men.

As a young girl, Tori Hope Petersen grew up in a home where she experienced abuse. As a result, she was placed into the foster care system and remained there until she was 18. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Tori discusses her testimony and memoir, Fostered: One Woman’s Powerful Story of Finding Faith and Family through Foster Care. Learn how Tori’s frequent moves between foster homes created instability, stress, and a lack of trust in relationships. But amazingly, she defied the odds and found Jesus in the process. She claimed Genesis 50:20 as her life verse, and as a result, she became an All-American track and field star at Hillsdale College and saw that what the devil meant for evil, God redeemed for her good.

Have you ever had tough questions about Christianity? On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson and several of America’s leading apologists address your concerns. Josh McDowell proves that the Bible is the most reliable document of antiquity. Lee Strobel points to the powerful testimony of the eyewitnesses to the resurrected Christ. “If the New Testament is fiction,” Frank Turek asks, “Why did the authors reveal so many of their own embarrassing foibles?” And Erwin Lutzer insists that the early church fathers believed in the deity of Christ, contrary to the false claims in The DaVinci Code. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

When Dave Donaldson was a boy, his father was tragically killed by a drunk driver and his mother had been seriously injured in the accident. As a result, Dave and his siblings were graciously invited to stay with the Davis family, who lived in a single-wide trailer. Upon their arrival, Mr. Davis told the kids, “You’re with family. You’re home!” On today’s edition of Family Talk, Donaldson, the founder and CEO of CityServe International, shares that he and his wife, Kristy, showed similar Christ-like compassion when they adopted a girl out of foster care. He challenges listeners to join him by adopting one of the 480,000 kids sitting in foster care today.

Did you know that all branches of the U.S. military are struggling to recruit young people to serve our country? Or that the U.S. Army missed their goal this year by 15,000 soldiers? On today’s edition of Family Talk, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin continues speaking on the moral decline in America’s armed forces and its dangerous effect. Due to the focus and embrace of political “woke” ideology, this decorated warrior states that there are too many soldiers who are ill-equipped today for the rigors of combat.

According to Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, America’s military is in a steep decline. Sadly, it has been transformed by secular politics. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Boykin explains that for every minute that young recruits are indoctrinated with this “woke” ideology, they’re spending less time training to defend our country. Consequently, fewer young people are joining the military. It’s long overdue for our armed forces to be restored back to greatness.

Because husbands and wives view money differently, conflict is inevitable. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Shaunti Feldhahn, author of Thriving in Love and Money, explains that 30% of Christian couples surprisingly maintain separate checking accounts. Ultimately, money problems are about power. Shaunti explains that finances should be an opportunity for connection, not conflict. She also teaches married couples how to take off the “gloves” and recognize they're on the same team.

For Christians in America, there has sadly been a dramatic shift in biblical values and principles. And not for the better. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Michele Bachmann states that the secular culture demeans believers who affirm natural marriage, the sanctity of human life, and have respect for their country. She encourages listeners to hold fast to their faith and convictions in the midst of the changing tide. In John 16:33, Jesus says, “In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

According to Pastor Sammy Rodriguez, “Our vote cannot be separated from our Christian faith. In fact, our vote is an extension of our faith!” On today’s edition of Family Talk. Rodriguez, the president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, proclaims that the color of his skin doesn’t define him. It’s his faith in Christ that does. The increasing sexualization of children, skyrocketing inflation, and the secular culture’s attack on Christians has awakened a sleeping giant, prompting believers to make their voices heard at the polls.
