Peter is writing these verses to communicate that, because of Jesus, you and I will never be a “has been” as a Child of God. We are forever a part of His family, because we put our faith in Jesus. As a result, we have a future and a Hope without end. This is the “good news,” of the gospel that has been proclaimed for generations.
