A promise we don’t often claim is that those who seek to live godly lives will suffer persecution. This was true of the Thessalonian Christians, and yet they stood firm in persecution for the gospel’s sake. But that raises the question, why does the gospel arouse such opposition?

Everyone comes into the world as a baby but we mature - some faster than others!. The same is true spiritually. And too many in the Church have not matured. As we’ll hear today, part of the problem is our low view of the Bible - that’s why there is such a disinterest in the things of God. But the bible is the very word of God - when the bible speaks, God speaks.

We’ll be reminded that Christian ministry is like the selfless and sacrificing roles of a mother and father. Any Lawyer worth his degree knows case law. Case law is composed of previous cases, and how they turned out. These cases are often used to persuade juries and judges that a precedent has been set.
