Delayed Judgement Released part 2

November 25, 2020

It’s not much fun to study the terrible fate that awaits the earth during the tribulation, but we certainly need to see it and understand it for two very good reasons. First, it’s part of God’s word, and secondly, if we understand what will happen during this time of upheaval, it will certainly be an inspiration to us to avoid being around when it takes place!

Today’s message is titled “Delayed Judgement Released”. We don’t mean to scare anyone, but what begins to happen in Revelation chapter eight signals the beginning of the end for this world. Of course, as born again believers in Jesus Christ, we won’t be around for the terror and destruction signaled by these trumpets. That’s the good news found in an otherwise dark and dreary picture painted in this section of Revelation.

As we continue our study of Revelation today, we’ll focus once again on the two groups of people who will be able to stand during the awful tribulation period. The first group is the numbered multitude - the one hundred forty four thousand Jews. The second group being the unnumbered multitude of people who are saved during the tribulation.

In chapter six we’ve seen the vision of coming death and destruction, and in chapter eight, another wave of judgment begins, but in chapter seven we have a break, and a question is asked. It’s an important question- one who’s answer has been debated for hundreds of years.

We’re in the midst of a fascinating look at the last book in the Bible, Revelation. What will occur when the vision given to John comes to fruition will truly be earth’s final chapter. However, as believers, we’re not going to have to suffer the consequences. Today on The Dwelling Place, we’ll bring you the conclusion of a message Pastor Al began yesterday, based on Revelation chapter six.

In Revelation chapter six we see the arrival of the so-called four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The first two will bring war, the third will bring famine and the fourth will bring widespread death and destruction. Well the good news for believers in Jesus Christ is that we won’t be around to experience these terrible occurrences.

We’ve been steadily making our way through the Book of Revelation, and we currently find ourselves in chapter five, talking about heaven. The Bible paints such an incredible picture of what it will be like!

With so many false prophets claiming to know the future, isn’t it great to know that we have the inerrant, infallible, and completely reliable Word of God as our source for correct information? With that, let’s open our Bibles to Revelation, chapter five.

We’re beginning to get a clear picture of what awaits us in Heaven, and what the routine is going to be like there. We’ve all wondered that at one time or another, and we’ll find out today that the routine in Heaven will be anything but routine! Do you enjoy giving praise to the Lord? Well, as the old saying goes, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Today, we move on to Revelation chapter four, where we begin to get a glimpse of our eternal home as believers - a place we call Heaven.  Do you have any concept whatsoever of the glory that awaits us when we get there? As much imagination as you or I might have, it’s really impossible to comprehend!

In this last study on the Church of Laodicea we learn that this is a church that is very self-sufficient.  That may sound good in this postmodern era...but truthfully, Jesus desires that we are not self-sufficient...but that our sufficiency is from Him.  When we look to ourselves for what we need, we become indifferent. However, Jesus never fails.  He is always more than enough.
