Blessed For Success Part 7 - Laodicea part 1

October 9, 2019

Today on The Dwelling Place, we're looking at the Letter to the church in Laodicea, found in the third chapter of the book of Revelation.  Jesus described this church as lukewarm.  Now this makes the Lord sick.  Surely if we are following Jesus, we do not want this for our lives.  So why don't we learn how to be the opposite of lukewarm - hot and on fire for the Lord and a cool and refreshing drink for those in need.

Today we’ll finish our study of the Lord’s letter to the church of Philadelphia, in Revelation chapter three verses seven through thirteen. This letter is a full of good news and encouragement to a body of believers who had been holding fast to their faith. They say that good news comes in small packages, and these seven verses may not take much time to read, but the message is great news for us today.

We’re going to talk about body building on today’s program, but don’t start working up a sweat -  we’re talking about Body Building God’s Way. We’ll be looking at the Lord’s letter to the church in Philadelphia, found in Revelation chapter three, verses seven through thirteen.  Again - the topic will be building up the body of Christ, something the Philadelphians were very good at.

We’re currently in the beginning stages of an exciting and interesting study through the book of Revelation.  As we continue our look at chapter three today, we’ll examine once again the message from the Lord to the church in Sardis. There’s no mystery at all about the Lord’s displeasure with things going on in this city. Many of the believers there had become hypocritical Christians. They talked a good game, but the evidence wasn’t there.

Today we continue our study of Revelation as we open our Bibles to Revelation chapter three. On our next two programs, pastor Al Pittman will take a look at the Lord’s message to the church in Sardis. "Zombies” might very well be an accurate way of describing the members of the church in Sardis, and that’s why the Lord gave them a stern message in the form of a letter.

We’re currently studying the message from the Lord to the church in Thyatira, found in Revelation chapter two, verses eighteen through twenty-nine. Without the ability to recognize false teachings, the church of Jesus Christ will eventually be corrupted with all sorts of idol worship, pagan rituals and other assorted sacrilege. That’s precisely what’s going on here as we study this section of scripture.

Today on The Dwelling Place,  Pastor Al Pittman continues his study of the book of Revelation and we reach the Lord’s letter to the church in Thyatira. These Christians had a lot going for them, but they also had some problem areas...  and one of them was growth. They had allowed false teaching to creep into their fellowship, and they received a stern warning from the Lord.

As we continue our study of the seven churches of Revelation today, we look again today at the compromise of the church of Pergamum.  Opportunities for compromise are everywhere today, and as believers, we must not only beware of them, but we must understand the consequences of succumbing to them. The members of the church in Pergamos are a great example

Satan is on the prowl, and looking for those he can devour.  It’s interesting to note that he used the same methods to attack the church back in the first century as he does now.  One of the primary ways he attacks the church is through bad doctrine, as we’re about to discover today on the broadcast.  So join us in Revelation two as we study the Lord's letter to the church of Pergamos.

The church in Smyrna was suffering persecution for their faith, and also tribulation and poverty. This little passage containing just four verses is a great reminder for us to stay faithful, and that the persecution we experience will pass. If you’re encountering problems or persecution in your life today, I think you’ll find today’s program uplifting, and so join us by turning to Revelation chapter two, verses nine through eleven.

Today, pastor Al Pittman will turn our attention to the Lord’s message to the church in Smyrna, found in Revelation chapter two, beginning in verse eight. You know, pain is never fun to experience or even talk about, but pain - both physical and emotional -  are facts of life. The church in Smyrna was suffering a barrage of persecution and tribulation, yet the Lord reminds them that they have no reason to be fearful.
