Satan is on the prowl, and looking for those he can devour. It’s interesting to note that he used the same methods to attack the church back in the first century as he does now. One of the primary ways he attacks the church is through bad doctrine, as we’re about to discover today on the broadcast.

Today, pastor Al Pittman will turn our attention to the Lord’s message to the church in Smyrna, found in Revelation chapter two, beginning in verse eight. The church in Smyrna was suffering a barrage of persecution and tribulation, yet the Lord reminds them that they have no reason to be fearful.

Today we’ll be looking at the Lord’s postcard to the church in Ephesus. The Ephesians were firm in their belief in the Lord as Savior, and their doctrine was strong, but they had walked away from their emotional attachment to Him. Their love had grown cold. It happened to the Ephesians and it’s still happening to Christians today.

Jesus warned us that the world would only get worse, as the end of the age approaches. As natural disasters ravage the earth, false prophets mislead millions, and wars and conflicts continue, it’s not hard to see that Jesus’ words are very true! In these last days, the Lord wants us to reflect His light.

Revelation is an often times misunderstood and a neglected book. It can be daunting, to say the least, but as we go verse by verse through these chapters, I think you’ll come away with a new found knowledge and appreciation for it. And you’ll walk away from it learning a great deal about Jesus and who He is! And His will and purpose for the church and you!

Today marks the end of a lengthy, enjoyable, and profitable journey for us as we put the finishing touches on our study of the Psalms. It ends in grand fashion with triumphant praise to God, and that’s a fitting note to end on I’m sure you’d agree.
