The Creation of Anxiety and Fear

The creation of anxiety? Please do not act surprised as if you are reading something out of a science fiction novel. We all know what anxiety is all about. My intention is not to clinically analyze anxiety and fear, rather to understand the broader view of anxiety created or manipulated by others with full intention of dominance.

 

Conditions are ripe for anxiety and fear for these to be on the rise in the times we are living; the human pre-disposition is perfect. People are being affected to the degree that they understand how critical things are not only in the USA, but also around the world. The way people feel and react to those feelings makes all the difference how they confront them and yes, it does affect the physical condition.

 

Anxiety is closely related to fear, while anxiety causes the mind to perceive possible dangers, fear responds to a known or more specific threat. Most of the time people do not know why they are anxious about and at times they believe the worst can happen. On the other hand, most people under fear beg for a way out of a social mess and are willing to follow anyone who promises salvation.

 

Now as before, unscrupulous power hungry individuals are working overtime to highjack the nation. Individuals that do not care for national life or patriotism or the true meaning of Americanism are using all type of scare tactics to create anxiety and fear. Like wild beasts they are prowling to overtake and sell out the future of the nation to the highest bidder.  

 

In our time their best methods to create anxiety and fear is by making believe that we have an enemy, apart from the bad economy created by the bad guys, is the pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like. At the top of their lungs they are screaming that we are facing an imminent ecological collapse. But according to them the only way out is, or as someone sold the idea of hope and change, is to transform humanity into one happy global family. Yes, that is our only hope to transform humanity into an interdependent society, who respects and reverences mother Earth. Does Cap and Trade come to mind? These emotions manipulators have plans to accomplish this noble task by changing attitudes and behavior. Are they thinking of preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God? Not in your wildest dreams! Their gospel is anxiety and fear.

 

Have the exorbitant amounts of money spent by the government solved any of America’s ills or the world’s for that matter? Our national history teaches that more money has been spent now than at any other time yet none of our pressing problems have been solved. Government bail outs have never worked; I don’t say this history does. Do you doubt this? May I recommend you do some homework by suggesting doing some research of the past? Progressives want people to believe only the government can save us. When a lie is born others build upon it until it becomes a “reality” only to find out through its destructive results they were duped, just like Germans under Hitler’s reign, to mention one of the many examples the world has seen.

 

Our only real hope against anxiety and fear is to get hold of true biblical faith, not the fake faith most Christians are exposed to. Anxiety and fear produces negative emotions and makes people vulnerable. Lack of biblical faith robs people of the only true source of lasting confidence.

 

Biblical faith creates confidence in the perfect will of the God of the Bible. This level of faith goes beyond mere belief, since it elevates the person to great expectations that are reachable. It [biblical faith) inspires greater initiative or effort, it is a plus in confidence producing the desired optimal result.

 

In Jesus’ time Israel was under the all-controlling power of the Roman Empire. The Israelites, for centuries had violated God’s ethical and moral law. They were in social shambles, anxiety was very high. This is what He told them:

 

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:25-34).

 

The way God helps us deal with our fears is no different than what he told Joshua to do; Joshua, who was commanded to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses’ death:

 

“After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, "Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:1-9).
