Our Great Need for Wisdom Part 2

September 17, 2008
Christ saved us from the stronghold of Satan's culture and brought us into this marvelous knowledge in Christ Jesus by the forgiveness of our sins and the renewal of our spirit to make us new creatures. That does not mean that we have not made mistakes, even severe mistakes. Even so, He provides a way that we can get out of the trap that we willingly fell into and continue to live the new life in obedience to God's principles. As God's people, we have a higher standard to live by as we reflect God's character so others can see and read in us the value of walking in close relationship with God.

I don’t know if you agree with me or not, but the way I see it; we have a great need for true wisdom. A quick look at the moral landscape of the nation is sufficient evidence to let us know that society as a whole is not making wise decisions for the present much less for the future. Everywhere you look, the lack of true wisdom is more than obvious. We have put too much emphasis on only getting an academic education because we have come to believe that knowledge is power, but the question is, what kind of knowledge?

As we get closer to Election Day the smear campaign is in full swing. Character assassination seems to be more important than substance on the issues. It is one thing for bloggers without any regard for decency to blast the candidates they disagreed with, but it’s another thing for the candidates themselves to throw cheap shots at their opponents. Elections come and go but pliticians like Sarah Palin are a far more fundamental threat to the Democratic Party and those who oppose God. She is the kind of public servants we desperately need.

Most likely, you have heard the phrase that we cannot legislate morality. The motive behind that statement is to silence the Christians who oppose immoral behavior. Those who hate biblical principles scream at the top of their lungs that we should not impose our morality on others. Does that mean that politics are immune from immorality? Does it mean that when we vote we must bypass the terrible effects of immorality and simply trust the laws passed by the executive powers, Congress, the Supreme Court, and other state laws? Can Christians separate their conscience from their vote in every day life? Even though many Christians do so, it is a reproach to the moral character of God.

This Thursday, September 11, 2008; is the seven year marker that changed life in America as we knew it. The terrorists’ attack will forever be remembered as a date that will remind Americans of their potential enemies and the lengths they are willing to go to hurt us. We are fighting two wars, which makes going through the airport checks a very vivid reminder of those wars. What does 9/11 mean to you now? For the people who lost a spouse or a child or a parent or a friend, September 11 is very much a part of their lives every single day in a tragic way. Exactly how much has the nation changed since Sept. 11, 2001, that depends on who has been the most affected by that tragic event.

In yesterday's program, we concluded that God rules over the affairs of men and nations whether they accept or reject His moral laws. This is the main reason why we should not even think that God is inclined toward any political party. However, He expects that believers and nonbelievers obey His moral standards; no exceptions.

As we continue to evaluate the presidential candidate’s positions on the different issues that are important to us we must keep in mind that God does not anoint any political party. God is not a Democrat, Republican, Constitutionalist, Libertarian or member of any other political party. We cannot evaluate God's character either as a conservative or liberal and the same principle applies to Jesus Christ. Many ideological tendencies persist in taking out of context not only His words but also the entire Word of God to fit their ideological goals while most Christians remain silent.

As a Christian, are you deeply concerned with the state of the culture in this country? Do you care that politicians which are elected to public office consider that killing babies in the mother’s womb is an alright thing to do? Or, that marriage between persons of the same sex is normal? Or that only the religion of evolution should be taught in public schools and ban creationism? Are you concerned that crime and violence are increasing and that the prison population is growing by leaps and bounds? Do you care that powerful billionaires want to turn this nation into a socialist-Marxist culture? Do you know where politicians stand on all of the important issues of life? Does God care how you vote? These are very pertinent questions that should have answers in the mind of every responsible citizen.

Throughout thousands of years of human history, man has been disappointed with his way of leading social affairs. There comes a point in the social structures of a nation that reformation is the only way out to preserve the Commonwealth. When anything becomes corrupted and affects life in a significant way, the choice is either national death or reformation of manners and customs. The reformation of Christianity in 1517 is a good reminder that even the church corrupts her way and needs to be reformed from the inside out.

You are a child of God, born again by the spirit of God, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and heaven is your destination. Anyone who has this hope is truly blessed. However, let us not overlook that while we live in this world and even though it is not our final home or destination, it is in this life that we manifest the reality of what it means to be children of God and born of the Spirit. William Penn stated, "Men must choose to be governed by God, or condemn themselves to be governed by tyrants." So if you were asking yourself, does God care how you vote, the answer is, absolutely!

Are Christians immune to the effects of bad politics? No. Bad politics affect everyone and if not corrected it can affect future generations for a long time to come. Most of America's institutions are leftists, they are also known by another name; secularists. Their ideological foundation or worldview is a combination of humanism, Marxism, socialism and even Nazi’ism. This election is crucial and will determine the direction the nation is going to take, so much so, that the idea of one nation under God could be in jeopardy.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
