God’s Commands for a Biblical Reformation Part 1

March 20, 2018

Here, in this program you frequently hear us say that we need to pray for a biblical reformation. By a biblical reformation we mean that each individual, family, community and nation, needs to realize the need to get back to God’s Word—the Bible—and apply it to all of life. In this series, we hope to explore a doable action plan to line up with what God wants to accomplish in our generation.

It is only befitting that at the conclusion of this topic we use an example of what a celebrated woman looks like in real life. I am sure we could think of some we have heard of throughout history and there are many that we have not heard of except for those around them who experienced their uniqueness. I have chosen one that I believe you will agree is a good choice. She was the only woman who was placed at the height of political power by the common consent of the people in times of old in Israel.

Modern culture presents the argument that we should “be comfortable with our bodies,” so at universities, advertising companies, and the like they have urged women in the last half century to “let it all hang out.” In order for society, and especially Christians within a secular and hostile society, to return to modesty we must be willing to look a little different in our actions and appearances.

The sexual revolution hasn’t been very good for either women or men because it has been used out of context. Something that God created to be a beautiful thing has been abused. The past thirty years have demanded manhood of women and has lessened manhood among men. Women need to truly be women again.

People live in terms of what they believe. The religion in America today is: Hedonistic in nature, it’s individualism. Jean-Jacques Rousseau believed that when looking for life’s rules of conduct, he found them, quote, “In the depths of my heart, traced by nature in characters which nothing can efface. I need only consult myself with regard to what I wish to do. What I feel to be good is good. What I feel to be bad is bad.” Does that sound familiar in the way many people live today?

The month of March has been declared National Women’s History Month, so it seemed very appropriate to me to deal with this subject in a radio series since it is in many people’s minds these days that women’s marches have been reported on the news. It is important from the beginning to establish the premise to arrive at truth, which is an absolute concept. Truth only has one source.

Helping the poor can be a challenge since the causes of a person’s poverty can be rooted in sin. There are moral failures that lead to poverty. Is the person’s poverty voluntary or involuntary? We must learn to distinguish which is which so we do not become enablers, but with love and compassion show the way out.

Who should know best how a design works and what it is capable of, the designer or the ignorant user? Exactly! Civil government, if not kept in check, grows to be too powerful over the people and robs the people of the wealth that rightfully belongs to them. In many ways, the governments keep people poor. "When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him," Proverbs 16:7.

In recent decades, as many Christians in America have sensed the downward spiral we are on as a nation, many have started to quote and pray 2 Chronicles 7:14. The praying and repentance part has been done many times over, but the important part that is still missing in a large percentage is the turning from our wicked ways and that has got to start happening. God has set the standards for turning any nation around. We must start with those closest to us.

In our previous program we took a look at how poverty looks like around the world. Now, let us take a look at what poverty looks like in America. America spends more per person on social welfare than Europe does and poverty is still an issue. When we love others as we love ourselves there is much we can do to help alleviate human suffering.

Did you know that 1 in 5 people in the world is considered to be living in extreme poverty? How do God and the Bible view being poor or impoverished? Is being poor only a material condition or is there a spiritual side to it? We will answer this and many more questions in our quest to understand the poverty problem here and around the world.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
