The Doctrine of Salvation Part 2

January 3, 2020

Today we’re going to unwrap the beautiful doctrine of salvation.  We’re guilty sinners, with no way to become righteous on our own.  But God provided a solution to our problem.  While being just, He at the same time justifies the guilty sinner through the work of Jesus on the cross.  Let’s hear more about this today, as John Randall brings another study from Romans.

Living in the Daze of Deception
There’s no question that Satan loves to deceive.  He’s been at it since the Garden.  And we can expect that to only increase in the last days.  How do we combat these lies and avoid getting lead astray?  We’d like to recommend a book from Jack Hibbs called, “Living in the Daze of Deception.”  Foreward by Mike Pompeo.  This national bestseller is available right now to our a Daily Walk listeners for the cost of just ten dollars.

We’ve learned previously that it’s impossible for us to live up to the standard of the law.  We’re all sinners, and can’t possibly earn our way into heaven.  So where does that leave us?  Is there any hope?  I’m glad to say there is, in Jesus.  And Romans makes that clear.  We’re justified freely by grace.

Are you among the many who feel you have to do more than just believe in Jesus and receive His free gift of salvation?  Join Pastor John Randall as he focuses on the depravity of man, and the real answer to our problem.

Today we begin Romans chapter three which reveals the total depravity of man! And our great need for Jesus and God’s grace.

In his letter to the Romans, Paul was adamant about our position in Christ, that we are saved by grace and grace alone. He declared that our status here on earth - social or otherwise has absolutely no bearing on our position in heaven. This was a hard lesson for the Jews to grasp.  Grab that Bible of yours and open it up to Romans chapter two and follow along with us as John Randall shows us that nothing can save us apart from Christ.

The law is much like a mirror!  It can show us our sin, but can’t cleanse us of it.  Yet too many seek to live up to the law expecting they can perform it to gain a right standing with God.  That only leads to hypocrisy and judgmentalism. There’s a better way - a way that actually works! Today on a Daily Walk we take you to Romans two and see together what that is.

Maybe you’ve noticed, we’re pretty good at making excuses to justify our bad behavior.  But we’re all too quick to come down hard on others who do the very same thing. This sort of self-deception and self-righteousness was present in the heart of the people we’ll read about today in Romans chapter two.

After all the preparation and anticipation Christmas has finally arrived!  And what a special day this is, as collectively we celebrate the fact that Salvation Has Come, a Savior was born who would eventually die on a cross for us.  But before Jesus was born, there was a longing and anticipation for the Messiah to arrive.  We see that in Simeon in Luke chapter two, and all the way back to the Old Testament times too.
December 25, 2019
Today and tomorrow, pastor John Randall will have us consider the great expectation and anticipation of the Messiah. You see it from Genesis to Isaiah, all the way up to the New Testament.  Before Jesus arrived on that first Christmas, believers throughout the ages were longing for Jesus to arrive.

Pastor John Randall is going through Romans right now, and we enter chapter two today. Our attention turns now to those who are self-righteous, and hypocritical.  It’s not just a problem in the past, but very much an issue today in many lives.

Sin is not to be trifled with because it’s a powerful force that wreaks havoc. God would have us avoid the great harm and instead experience fulfillment that only comes by living according to His Word. Today we'll hear that replacing God’s morals with man’s always leads to moral degradation and disaster.
