Isaiah 31:1-3

“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord! And yet he is wise and brings disaster; he does not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity. The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.”

Learn to place your trust in God, not in the other things in your life!

It wasn’t Egypt that bothered God in this passage; what bothered God was that Israel was trusting in Egypt for protection instead of trusting in God. So God brought disaster out of the situation to teach Israel to trust in him.

Today God wants you to know that there is nothing wrong with your money, but if you are trusting in your income or your inheritance instead of in God, “he is wise and brings disaster”. If you are trusting in your success or your personality or your intelligence or in people, then your trust needs to be redirected.
