Love Does No harm

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 13:9-10

Paul mentioned that love was the fulfillment of the Law. As a Christian, if you have true love, then you are not going to give in to those things that are not right before God––adultery, stealing, lying or coveting. Christians will do what is right in the eyes of God. When they act in love toward people, they are, in fact, fulfilling the law of God. Love does not hurt anybody––even your neighbor. It is the love of God that constrains us. Love is the key to the kingdom of God. It is because of love that Christ died on the cross for our sins.

Christians are to love God and remain in right standing with Him and all that they do. They will do their duty according to the laws of the land in paying their taxes, and in their duty to love people in fulfillment of the law. They will even love their enemies and pray for them. Christians who are bound by the law of love will not sit down with others to destroy people with gossip. Believers do not cheat, steal or enrich themselves at other people’s expense. Everything is earned and gained honestly.

Seriously, nobody can prosper when they cheat. As fast as they get it, God will take it away from them. In time, one way or another, they will get financially behind. Remember, what a man sows, that will he reap (Galatians 6:7). We do not get away with sin––our sin will always be found out.

Integrity is the glue that holds our way of life together. We must constantly strive to keep our integrity intact. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.
