Do You Have Faith?

Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
Romans 15:14

Paul commended the brethren. He had confidence that God’s goodness was working within them. They were filled with the knowledge of God to the point that they were mature enough to admonish one another in love. The believers were well-taught by the Apostle Paul. His teaching was biblically based. He kept Christians away from legalism and helped them to live free in Christ. Paul always quoted from the Scriptures. He often quoted from the book of Deuteronomy, Psalms and Isaiah. He knew the Word of God thoroughly.

Calvary Chapel is known for the teaching of God’s Word. Yet you would be surprised how many people in the Church do not know biblical doctrine, even those serving in a leadership capacity. Christians need to know the Word of God and be empowered by the Holy Spirit. With these two things combined, God will work through us in order to win the world to Jesus Christ.

Think about it. Can you outline all 66 books of the Bible? Have you memorized the books in there order? Which books make up the Pentateuch? Which are the historical books in the Bible? What are the poetical books? How about major and minor prophets? Do you know the history during the 400 years of silence? What about the Gospels, the book of Acts and the Epistles? What about the prophetical book of Revelation?

Practically, as a Christian, you need to study God’s Word, pray, and be in fellowship with other believers. Why do people get so stressed out in life? I believe with my whole heart it is because they have not spent time on their knees before God in His Word. If you do not have intimate time with God, you will find your mind will not be clear, and you will have no sense of direction because you do not hear His voice.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
