Are You Ready to Preach the Gospel?

I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.
Romans 1:14-15

If it was the Lord’s will for Paul to come to Rome, then no matter the situation, nothing would hinder him. He was ready to go to Rome to preach the Gospel––the incredible power of salvation. Paul was ready to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to any person, from any station of life, Greeks and Barbarians, wise and unwise. The Gospel was for everybody, not just for certain people.

Remember, Paul wanted to minister to the church in Rome to see the believers’ spiritual fruitfulness. Paul really desired to view their walk with Christ, their spiritual maturity, and how God was using their lives as they evangelized and witnessed to others. He could see first-hand for himself how the church was using the gifts and talents God had given them.

Paul kept reminding the Christians in Rome of the Gospel message, and he exhorted the believers to mature, because he cared for them. He had great concern for the Church––not a building, but living souls. He knew the heart of men and how easy it was to deviate from the truth. People can get caught up with so many other things and neglect the most important thing.

Some Christians live their lives trying to walk on ice; they are slipping and sliding, because they do not know how to stand. Paul exhorted believers to: Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13). If believers know the full Gospel, then they are ready to preach the Gospel of God with power to anyone. How well do you know the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
