Do Not Worry About Your Life

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
Matthew 6:25

There are so many serious problems in the world. Most things we hear about on the news will cause us to worry about our lives: fires, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, violence, and the dreaded Corona virus. People living in the world are fearful. Things seem to be spiraling out of control! I believe with all my heart, these times are like the days of Noah. It is scary. It is going to take a supernatural work of God to save this world.

In these last days, the reality of what is happening has caused people to have a lack of faith in God. Jesus said, “…when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8) Even the faithful are being tested because there are no guarantees and no security in this world anymore. Jesus said to pray and do not faint––do not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Pray to God; ask Him to speak to you and reassure you.

This generation has no sense of stability, no sense of integrity, and no sense of direction. In schools, our children are facing situations that are more intense. Look around you. So many young people have been destroyed through drugs and sexual immortality. Most do not know God. They are atheistic––ungodly. We need God’s wisdom, prayerful intercession, and the preaching of the Gospel to reach them.

People want to escape their anxieties, but they still have to live in this world and face their problems. They have developed great dependencies––drinking alcohol or taking drugs––to try and escape, but it just places them deeper into the pit. Everything people use to try and find hope and comfort will be unstable. People need to know Christ and develop a dependence on Him and His Word. Christians know that nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses them from all sin––and that gives them hope in the darkness. Christians have turned on the light in their lives!

Worry is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained.
