Confidence in God’s Deliverance

Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
1 Samuel 17:37

David trusted in God’s deliverance––he remained unafraid. The same living God who had delivered him from the lion and the bear would be faithful to deliver him from Goliath the giant. David had full confidence in the Lord. After listening to David, King Saul gave his permission for David to go fight the giant. With the impossible odds stacked against the young lad, Saul told him, “…and the Lord be with you.” Believe me, He was!

Throughout David’s life, he wrote many psalms and praised His God for His deliverances. Be encouraged by them yourself:

Psalm 32:7:You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah

Psalm 34:4, 17:I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

Psalm 107:6: Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

What impossible odds are stacked against you? Trust in God’s deliverance. From the above Scriptures, we have learned God is your hiding place. He guards and protects your life. His songs are praises that remind you of His wonderful grace and work. The Lordlistens to your prayers and acts on your behalf. He delivers you from all your troubles––not just some of them––all. Are you in distress because of your circumstances today? Seek the Lord; cry out for deliverance.

I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.
~Psalm 40:17~
