Words of Worship

“You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.” - Nehemiah 9:6

The Levites led the people into words of praise and adoration:“Stand up and bless the Lord your God forever and ever! Blessed be Your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise! They worshiped their God––the Creator––and acknowledged that He alone is the Lord. They knew that angels––the host of heaven––worshiped His glorious majesty.

Psalm 148 is another wonderful psalm that invites us to praise the Lord. Praise must resonate in heaven and rise from the depths of the sea:

Praise the Lord!Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise Him in the heights!Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light!Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens! …Praise the Lord from the earth, You great sea creatures and all the depths…(Psalm 148:1-4, 7).

All people who inhabit the earth, both great and small, should praise the Lord:…Kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth; both young men and maidens; old men and children (Psalm 148:11-12). In our busy lives, it is easy to forget that we need to praise the Lord. There are so many reasons in our lives to praise God. Why not stand up and bless the Lord by praising Him each day of your life?

Praise, my soul, the King of heaven; to His feet thy tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, evermore His praises sing.
