True Worship

…“Stand up and bless the Lord your God Forever and ever! Blessed be Your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise!
...The host of heaven worships You.” - >Nehemiah 9:5-6

In review of Nehemiah 9, the greatness of God stands out. The people came to know that God was the only One to be exalted. Imagine the hosts of heaven––the angels who forever come before the Lord. There were myriads––millions upon millions––surrounding His throne. It must be an incredible sight in heaven as the host of heaven worships God! John, who wrote the book of Revelation, described what he saw:

Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels . . . and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”(Revelation 5:11-12)

Do we really worship our great God? The angels do!The host of heaven worships the Lamb of God––Jesus Christ who was slain on the cross. Worship of God is important. Lately, I have observed that most of the worship has become entertainment.  The worship leader is coaching the people, rather than leading the people into the presence of God.

When we are worshiping in God’s presence, there should be nothing that distracts us. The Lord should have your complete attention.  Our worship needs to come naturally as an expression of our love for God. As we stand in His presence, true worship comes from our hearts.  Just as Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, God has to become real in our lives if we are to worship Him sincerely.

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship
 in spirit and truth.”
 ~John 4:24~
