Glad for the Help

When he [King Saul] numbered them in Bezek, the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand. And they said to the messengers who came, “Thus you shall say to the men of Jabesh Gilead: ‘Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you shall have help.’ ” Then the messengers came and reported it to the men of Jabesh, and they were glad.
1 Samuel 11:8-9

Can you imagine what an awesome army Israel had for battle? They were 330,000 strong. Imagine them looking down the hill at the Ammonites below. Even though the men of Jabesh were fearful, they were now glad because God will fight for them. The Lord will use His servant King Saul.

Think about our lives. So often we are made fearful by men who come against us. We need to remember, whoever it is that comes against us; who will help us? The Bible tells us:God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 KJV).We may feel vulnerable and weak, but we must place your confidence in Him: “…I am poor and needy; yet the LORD thinks on me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.”  Paul instructed believers that Jesus is our High Priest, through Him we can come boldly to the throne of grace:

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:15-16).

As a Christian, are you in need of help today? Be glad, God is with you and He will be your help.

…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
~Hebrews 13:5-6~
