Inspiration of Scripture

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Paul the Apostle dealt with believers in Galatia who went from the grace of God back into the Law. Judaizers tried to discredit the grace of God by adhering to the Law. Remember, the Law of God condemns a person and points out their sin to them. It shows them their need for Christ. Paul gave a scriptural argument to those who questioned salvation through faith––according to the grace of God. Christ alone can forgive sin.

To be able to understand the power of the Gospel, you have to read and study the Bible. People will ask, “Do you really believe in the Bible and that what is written is true?” Scriptures in the Old Testament confirm New Testament Scriptures. The Apostles of Jesus Christ continually used the Scriptures to persuade people of biblical doctrines written in the Bible.

On the day of Pentecost in an upper room, 120 of Christ’s disciples had gathered to pray. The Holy Spirit came, baptized them, and they spoke in different languages––dialects. Many people from about 60 different nations had gathered for the Passover in Jerusalem. They marveled because they heard these men and women worshiping and speaking praises to God in their languages (Acts 2).

When these people questioned this incident, Peter stood up and began to explain the experience scripturally from the Old Testament book of Joel (Joel 2:28). The Scripture explained what had taken place. When you have an experience, you have to back it up scripturally, or it could be an experience from Satan. An experience has to always be verified by Scriptures.

If anyone asks you questions about biblical doctrine, you have to be able to prove it to them by showing where it is written in Scripture––always. Don't believe everything you think. You cannot be trusted to tell yourself the truth. Stay in the Word.
